WESTFORD — Westford saw its first major snowfall of the winter season on Tuesday, after a winter storm made its way eastwards across the country and into Massachusetts, dumping several inches of snow in several communities across the state.
According to the National Weather Service, at least three inches of snow was recorded in Westford by the time the stormed moved out of the area on Wednesday morning.

In addition to snow, the storm also brought slush and rain, creating slippery conditions during the morning and evening commutes, with several spinouts and crashes occurring in the Westford area on U.S. route 3 and Interstate 495.
The storm also prompted the National Weather Service to declare a winter weather advisory for Westford and surrounding areas in Middlesex County, which was effective from 4 p.m. on Tuesday, until 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
