Museum to host a conversation with Martha Washington

WESTFORD — The Westford Museum and Historical Society will continue its Rev 250 programming with a dynamic and interactive living-history presentation, “A Personal Conversation with Martha Washington,” on Jan. 8.

The event, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Westford Museum, 2 Boston Rd, is part of the museum’s ongoing celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

Audience members will be taken back to January 1776, when Martha Washington was in Cambridge alongside her husband, George Washington, then commander of the American forces.

During the program, “Mrs. Washington” will reflect on her life, family, and the challenges of the Revolutionary era while preparing for an evening engagement. Through personal stories and discussion of current events shaping the colonies, the presentation will offer insight into the role Martha Washington played during the nation’s founding.

The program is performed by Sandy Spector, a Boston-based historian, researcher and interpreter who has been a Revolutionary War reenactor since 2000. Spector has portrayed Martha Washington at historic sites across multiple states, including Washington’s Headquarters in Cambridge, Valley Forge, and Newburgh, N.Y. She is known for bringing emotional depth, historical accuracy, and humor to her performances.

A suggested donation of $10 supports the program.
