WESTFORD — The Westford Museum and Historical Society will host a presentation on Colonel John Robinson’s regiment during the Siege of Boston on Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Westford Museum, 2 Boston Rd.

The program, part of the town’s Rev 250 series, will examine the formation and role of Robinson’s regiment following the pivotal events of April 19, 1775, when New England militiamen surrounded British forces in Boston. As enlistments began expiring later that year, 13 new militia regiments were formed to strengthen the Continental Army, including one organized and commanded by Robinson, a Westford resident.

The talk will highlight the development of Robinson and his regiment during the Siege of Boston with the help of the regiment’s orderly book discovered in a California library in 2003. The document provides insight into Robinson’s contributions as well as the 14 other men from Westford who served during the later stages of the siege.

The program will be presented by Dan Lacroix, a scholar specializing in 18th-century Westford history. Lacroix is the webmaster of westford1775.org, a resource focused on the town’s Revolutionary-era history. Lacroix is also a former president of the Westford Historical Society.

There is a suggested program donation of $10.
