WESTFORD CENTER — A new café focused on fresh food and community connection is set to make its debut this weekend.
The Works Café will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, April 25, beginning at 10 a.m., with a day of giveaways, entertainment and community-focused initiatives.
On opening day, the first 100 guests will receive a tote bag and a voucher for free bagels and cream cheese for a month. The next 50 guests will get a free bagel and cream cheese at the event, while all customers at the event can enjoy a free coffee with any purchase.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the celebration will feature family-friendly activities including a live DJ, face painting, balloons and a photo wall. The Kiss 108 team will also be on site with giveaways and prize opportunities such as concert tickets.
A highlight of the opening is a limited-time “Crunch for a Cause” bagel created in collaboration with Irene Li, co-founder of Mei Mei Dumplings, James Beard Award–winning chef and Vice Chair of Project Bread. The specialty bagel features black-and-white sesame with scallion chili crunch cream cheese. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Project Bread Walk for Hunger, a statewide nonprofit working to address food insecurity.
The Works Café, founded in 1988 in Manchester, Vermont, operates cafés across New England and is built on a “triple bottom line” philosophy focusing on people, planet and profit. The company emphasizes locally sourced ingredients, sustainable practices and community partnerships.
Following the grand opening, the café will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering bagels, sandwiches, salads, bowls, smoothies and coffee.
