Nor’easter to bring heavy rain, strong winds to Westford this weekend
A strong nor’easter is expected to bring periods of rain and gusty winds to Westford beginning Friday night and continuing through the weekend, prompting event cancellations and warnings about using town fields and parks.
State officials secure $50,000 for J.V. Fletcher Library renovation
Sen. John Cronin and Rep. Jim Arciero recently met with J.V. Fletcher Library Director Ellen Rainville, to present $50,000 in state funding for physical upgrades to the library as part of its ongoing expansion and renovation.
The $32.5 million expansion and renovation of the library broke ground in September of last year and is expected to be completed this Spring.
Since opening in 1896, the library has been a cornerstone of the Westford community, offering a wide range of physical and digital books, book club kits, museum passes, online research databases, streaming services plus individual and collaborative study rooms.
