Notorious P.I.G., a rather large guinea pig at 3.5 pounds, was surrendered to the Lowell Humane Society by his owners because he was not getting along with the other guinea pigs in the home. Although most guinea pigs are social by nature, Notorious P.I.G. prefers to be in his own enclosure. “If you have other guinea pigs, he could live separately but live in line-of-site of them so he could see other friends”, said Lindsey Andella, Volunteer Coordinator at the shelter.
Ardella describes Notorious P.I.G. as a sweet guy who loves to play with his toys in his pen as much as he enjoys hanging out and being pet on the couch. “Guinea pigs make great pets”, Ardella said. “They can be a bit shy. Smaller animals tend to be a little on the shier side compared to a dog or cat. They require a good amount of space so they can get exercise.”
Notorious P.I.G. is available now for adoption at the Lowell Humane Society. Interested adopters can call the shelter at 978-452-7781 or email info@lowellhumanesociety.org to schedule an appointment to meet him
