Tippy is a shy, 12 year old domestic shorthair looking for a quiet home with no other pets. Tippy was brought into the Lowell Humane Society after cats in his prior home were treating him poorly and he began acting out.
“He was living with an owner and several other cats”, said the shelter’s Communication and Fundraising Manager, Crystal Arnott. “The cats were kind of beating up on him which was causing him to be really unpredictable with people because he was so scared all the time.”
Arnott suggests a cat savvy, adult only home as it will take time for Tippy to feel comfortable in his new surroundings. Once he is, he loves to sit in laps and be pet.
“When he first came here to us, he was very, very nervous”, Arnott said. “He would just hide all the time. He was in a cage hiding under his blankets. We switched him into our staff break room and it took weeks but then he finally started to soften up and became very sweet.”
Tippy is available now for adoption through the Lowell Humane Society. Interested adopters can call the shelter at 978-452-7781 or email info@lowellhumanesociety.org to schedule an appointment to meet him.
