“Taste the Difference”
Just one exit south of Westford lies a culinary gem that’s redefining Asian dining in our area. Taka Asian Cuisine, tucked into the Constitution Avenue shopping plaza in Littleton, delivers on its promise to create something completely new for diners. Building on generations of traditional hibachi, teppanyaki and sushi expertise, they’ve crafted a menu that speaks to modern palates while honoring authentic flavors.
Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch, leisurely dinner, or just drinks with friends, Taka’s diverse offerings have something for everyone.
The Atmosphere
Taka’s layout gives you options for any mood. The bar area offers a separate, intimate space, the main dining room provides classic restaurant ambiance, and the hibachi “show” room delivers dinner with entertainment. You could arrive with a group, split up based on preferences, and reconvene at the end of the evening.
The lighting starts dim but becomes comfortable once your eyes adjust. A friendly host greets you immediately, ready to seat you or hand over your takeout order. The atmosphere ranges from lively (bar and hibachi areas) to conversational (dining room), but never overwhelms dinner conversation.
The Service
After experiencing both the main restaurant and hibachi areas, the show room edges ahead for attentiveness. While the flame-throwing and sizzling creates more excitement, the wait staff there truly shines. Our hibachi chef deserves special recognition—patient, gracious, and genuinely funny, he kept our challenging group of nine entertained throughout the meal.
The dining room staff, though friendly and efficient, seemed stretched thin during our visit—likely the staffing challenges many restaurants face these days. But when the drinks flowed perfectly and our chef’s aim proved outstanding (flinging zucchini bits into our mouths with impressive accuracy), any service gaps were quickly forgotten.
Watching our chef seamlessly remember every order—who wanted shrimp, chicken, or beef, and every combination—felt like magic. No cheat sheet in sight, just pure professionalism that earned well-deserved applause.
The Food
If Asian fusion isn’t your style, Taka might not be your destination. But for those who appreciate this cuisine, the extensive menu offers almost overwhelming choice, with clear descriptions of spice levels and ingredients.
During our hibachi experience, every dish hit the mark—perfectly prepared and served with theatrical flair that made watching the cooking process half the fun. The steak and shrimp combination with rice and vegetables satisfied completely. While I skipped the pricier filet option, the regular steak proved tender and flavorful. The accompanying sauces elevated every bite, especially the appetizer salad dressing that I’d gladly bottle and take home.
Everything tasted fresh and cooked exactly to order, with portions that satisfied without requiring doggie bags. Our earlier dining room experience told a different story—equally fresh and well-prepared food, but portions so generous that all four of us left with tomorrow’s lunch. Perhaps the sushi appetizers and pre-dinner cocktails contributed to the abundance, but either way, Taka delivers excellent value.
Whether you choose varied small plates, sushi selections, or dinner with a show, you’ll leave with memories of a genuine culinary experience.
