WBA Hosts Annual Meeting, Elects Officers; Guest Speaker, State Rep. Jim Arciero

WESTFORD, MA – The Westford Business Association held its annual meeting on Thursday evening, November 5, 2025, at Nabnasset Lake Country Club. Co-hosted by acting Board Members Brian Eller and Sarah Fletcher, the event marked a significant milestone for the organization as it formalized its leadership structure following its reformation period and brought together local business leaders, community partners, and elected officials.
Event Details
The evening’s dinner service was provided by Gigi Cooks Catering, whose menu complemented the elegant setting at Nabnasset Lake Country Club. The venue provided an ideal atmosphere for networking and celebration as members gathered to mark this important milestone in the association’s history. Icing on the cake was a raffle where lucky participants were recipients of gift baskets created by Sharon Day of Westford’s Express Yourself Gifting (expressyourselfgifting.com).
Board of Directors Elected
Members elected the organization’s first formal Board of Directors since its restructuring. The newly elected officers are:
- President (2-year term): Brian Eller, Senior Helpers
- Vice President (2-year term): Mary McCauley, Keller Williams
- Treasurer (1-year term): David Brown, Rockland Trust
- Secretary (1-year term): Kelley Silva, All About the Massage
- Executive Director: Sarah Fletcher, Westford Community Access Television
The Board also includes several committee chairs and members serving staggered terms to ensure continuity of leadership. Board members include Patti Mason (EDC Liaison), JulieAnn Govang (Communications) from Parish Center for the Arts & WestfordCAT, Michelle Clement (Membership) from Rockland Trust, Marshall-Ben Tisdale (Membership) of Edward Jones, Danielle Ducharme (Membership) of Hampton Inn & Suites/Residence Inn by Marriott, and Mary Anne Seraphin (Events) representing J.V. Distinguished Guest Speaker
The evening’s featured speaker was Representative James Arciero, who represents the 2nd Middlesex District. Representative Arciero reflected on his 17 years of service to the district and shared insights into his work as chair of the Housing Joint Committee and chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation. His remarks highlighted the many changes seen in the region during his time, as well as touching on the intersection of business development, housing policy, and infrastructure planning, and how all of which had and continue to have an impact on local communities like Westford.
The WBA meets monthly on the third Tuesday at various business locations throughout Westford, with regular board meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month. Quarterly signature events provide additional opportunities for member engagement and community connection.
Economic Development Partnership
Imran Nawaz, chair of the Westford Economic Development Committee, also addressed attendees about the progress of the “Discover Westford” initiative which aims to promote Westford as a vibrant business destination and strengthen connections between businesses and the community. Nawaz emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to support economic growth.
Mission and Vision
The Westford Business Association, originally incorporated in 2014, is committed to the growth and vitality of Westford businesses in partnership with the Westford community. The organization focuses on creating awareness of existing businesses, promoting Westford as a viable business location, providing networking and educational opportunities, ensuring businesses have a unified voice with town government, and bringing business and community together.
Annual membership dues are $250 for for-profit businesses; $100 for non-profit organizations. Benefits include networking opportunities, member-to-member discounts and opportunities, listing in the business directory, and participation in special quarterly events and monthly meetings, both of which including guest speakers, business highlights, and other entertainment to foster a more enjoyable and relationship-building forum.
Community Investment
The WBA continues its commitment to investing in the next generation of business leaders through scholarship programs. The organization is planning annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Westford Academy and Nashoba Valley Technical High School who are pursuing careers in business.
