NABNASSET — Dunstable Road between Groton Road and Depot Street will be temporarily closed, as construction crews begin work to repave the roadway.

According to an announcement posted Tuesday by Westford Public Works, Newport Construction will begin milling Dunstable Road on Wednesday, with a signed detour put in place during paving operations, directing through traffic to Groton Road and Depot Street. Local traffic will continue to have access to their properties, the announcement said, but temporary delays are possible while the work is underway.

Public Works said drivers and surrounding residents should expect construction equipment and crews, construction noise, minor traffic delays and temporary driveway access interruptions during the repaving process. They advise all drivers in the area to use caution when traveling through the work zones, reduce their speed and follow all signs and crew directions for their safety.

Additional paving schedule updates will be provided by Public Works officials as the work progresses and weather conditions allow. Public Works thanked all residents for their patience and cooperation, adding that the work is intended to help improve Westford’s roadway network.
