Director’s Corner: Congratulations, readers of all ages, on your participation and support of the Fletcher Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Program! Over 775 patrons signed up for “Plant a Seed, Read!”.
We thank the Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library, Inc. for supporting and funding all aspects of our three (children’s, young adult, and adult) Summer Reading Programs. It continues to be so gratifying and rewarding to encourage so many enthusiastic readers of all ages!

Virtual Job Search Help for 50 & OVER –Career Story and Elevator Pitch: Wednesday, September 16, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (please note time change) The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Group meets on biweekly the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career”, this networking group program is perfect for you! Virtual – Mystery/Thriller Book Recs with Bestselling Author, Hank Phillippi Ryan: Thursday, September 17, 6:30-7:00 p.m. Love Mysteries and Thrillers but not sure what to read next? Join bestselling author, Hank Phillippi Ryan, for this quarterly session of her recommendations of some of the best of mystery/thrillers out there! Virtual – Author Heather Wolf Discusses – Fall Bird Migration: Seas, Skies, and Land: Monday, September 21st, 7:00 p.m. Join Heather Wolf, author of Find More Birds and Birding at the Bridge, as she discusses what we can look for with Fall migration happening right now! Monday Mystery Book Club: Monday, September 28th at 2:30 p.m. in person at Roudenbush Community Center, 3rd floor. The Mystery Book Club will discuss Y Is for Yesterday by Sue Grafton. Middle Grade Book Club: Registration is open!
Join us for a lively discussion, snacks, and a fun activity! This session, we’ll be discussing Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono, The Last Resort by Erin Entrada Kelly, and Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed. Registration is required and is for all three sessions. Meetings will be held on 9/28, 10/26, and 11/30 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at 515 Groton Rd.
Youth Services Library Card Sign-Up Week: Monday, September 14 -18.
September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! A library card offers a front-row seat to everything the library offers, from books and technology to lifelong learning and imagination.
Stop by the Children’s Room during this week to register your child for their very own J. V. Fletcher Library card. We will have goodies, a fun photo backdrop, and props to celebrate this special moment!

Books and Bunnies: Tuesday, September 15, 10:30 a.m., Good Pickin’ Farm We welcome you to join us at Good Pickin’ Farm while we cuddle the sweetest bunnies and listen to an interactive storytime led by Farmer Jen! This storytime is geared for children ages 2-5. Registration is required.
Winnie the Pooh Storytime: Tuesday, September 22nd, 11:00-11:45 a.m. Winnie the Pooh House 39 Main Street Join us at the charming Winnie the Pooh house for a fun storytime based on A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh story! Ellen Harde will read selections from the original Winnie the Pooh and young participants will have time to explore Westford’s Winnie the Pooh house. Young Adult Advisory Board: Wednesday, September 23, 6:30-7:30 p.m., 515 Groton Rd. For ages 12-18. Looking for community service hours? Want to help out at the library? Join YAAB and have your say in programming, community outreach, book purchasing suggestions, decor, and more! Registration is requested but drop ins are welcome.
Dungeons & Dragons: Thursday, September 24 at 4:30-6 p.m., 515 Groton Rd. For ages 11-18. All experience levels welcome! Join us for a three-session campaign with Dungeon Master Mark! Meetings will occur: Sept 24, Oct 1, and Oct 8, from 4:30 – 6 pm. Registration is required and is for all three sessions.
Three & Up Storytime: Tuesday, September 29, 10:30—11:15 a.m., Roudenbush – 3rd floor Join us Tuesday mornings for our preschool storytime full of interactive stories, rhymes, fingerplays, puppets, and songs. This storytime program, designed for children ages 3 to 6, promotes reading readiness and early literacy skills. Registration is recommended to receive both weekly reminder emails and updates in case of program changes. When you sign up, you are registered for the entire 8-week Three & Up Storytime session. Time for Tots Storytime: Wednesday, September 30, 10:30-11:00 a.m. Roudenbush – 3rd floor Our Time for Tots Storytime is a 30-minute interactive story time experience for our young library users and their caregivers. Join us for stories, songs, movements, and puppets that are developmentally appropriate for children from 15 months to 3 years of age. Enjoy time together with fellow parents, caregivers and little ones to learn, play and develop language, early literacy, and motor skills. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your toddler. This program is designed for little ones who are on the move. Registration is recommended to receive both weekly reminder emails and updates in case of program changes. When you sign up, you are registered for the entire 8-week Time to Tots storytime session. Baby Lapsit: Thursday, October 1, 10:30-11:00 a.m., Roudenbush – 3rd floor Baby Lapsit is a 25-minute interactive story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, rhymes, puppets, and bounces that are developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they begin walking. This Lapsit program is just for you and the baby! Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers and babies to learn, play and develop language, early literacy, and motor skills. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap. This program is designed for newborns through pre-walking babies. Registration is recommended to receive both reminder emails and updates in case of program changes. When you register, you are registered for the entire 8-week Baby Lapsit session. Questions?
