PARKER VILLAGE — A 7-month baby was airlifted to the hospital after falling from a second floor window on Wednesday morning.
According to the Westford Police and Fire Departments, officers and firefighters responded to a home on Colonial Drive around 11 a.m., after they received a call reporting that the 7-month old had fallen from the second floor window of the home.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters and paramedics immediately began providing medical aid to the child.
Due to the child’s young age and nature of the fall, firefighters said Boston MedFlight was called as a precaution.
The child was then transported by ambulance to a landing zone at Jack Walsh Field on Carlisle Road, before being airlifted by the MedFlight crew to a Boston hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Firefighters and paramedics at the scene said the child was conscious and alert following the fall.
What exactly led to the child falling out the window is not yet clear at this time and remains under investigation by police. Further information will be made public as the investigation continues, police said.

One really has to ask the question that everyone is avoiding and that is – how does a 7 year old child, make its way to a window, maybe open it, then lift up a screen and suddenly fall out? Could it possibly be another Lindsey Clancy episode we’re about to unfold?
