Lunch and Learn, ‘Dementia and Medications That Can Make it Worse,’ at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford (Sept. 15) 

WESTFORD—Bridges by EPOCH at Westford will host the lunch and learn, “Dementia and Medications That Can Make it Worse,” on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at noon. Certain medications can be unbeneficial or even worsen dementia symptoms. During this Lunch and Learn, hear more about which medications are not recommended for individuals diagnosed with dementia.

Paint Night to End Alzheimer’s at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford (Sept. 16)

WESTFORD—As part of Bridges by EPOCH at Westford’s effort to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, the community is hosting a special Paint Night fundraising event on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 and all proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association and will go toward the Bridges by EPOCH at Westford 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. Guests are invited to unleash their creativity under the guidance of Tinker’s Cart Art, a local company that provides all materials each guest will need to create their own masterpiece. Light appetizers and libations will be served.

Space is limited to 20 guests.

Caregiver Support Group at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford (Sept. 28)

WESTFORD—Bridges by EPOCH at Westford will host a support group for dementia caregivers on Monday, Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m. A memory impairment specialist will lead the discussion on the challenges of caring for someone with memory impairment. The group will enjoy a meal while sharing ideas and challenges to help and encourage each other. We also welcome you to bring the person you care for to enjoy dinner with our residents while the support group meets.

A light meal will be served.

Lunch and Learn, ‘Educating Family and Friends About Your Alzheimer’s Diagnosis’ at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford (Sept. 29)

WESTFORD—Bridges by EPOCH at Westford will host the lunch and learn, “Educating Family and Friends About Your Alzheimer’s Diagnosis” on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at noon. Telling friends and family about an Alzheimer’s diagnosis is a very important and personal moment. During this Lunch and Learn, we’ll discuss the who, when, why and how’s of sharing your diagnosis with friends and family, as well as discuss the common responses to news of this type of diagnosis.

All are welcome to attend these free events, but space is limited. Call 978-692-9541 to RSVP or for more information. Bridges by EPOCH at Westford is a memory care assisted living community located at 108 Littleton Road.
