Cookbook Book Club:

Back to Basics: Barefoot Contessa: Tuesday, August 16 at 7:00 p.m. The cookbook book club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Copies of the cookbook are available for checkout at the Main Desk.  If you are interested in bringing a dish from the cookbook (this is not required), please contact Sarah Regan at 978-399-2309.  Drop-in.

Monday Morning Mystery Book Club:

Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Our 6th Mystery to Unravel is: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. Copies of this book are available at the Main Desk. Wake up your week with us, we have great, coffee-fueled discussions! Newcomers are always welcome. Drop in.

Knitting Group: 

Monday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mary Atwood Hall Do you enjoy knitting? Our informal knitting group meets the fourth Monday of every month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. This is a drop-in program that is open to all ages.  Bring your latest project and share advice and socialize with other knitters! Adult Coloring Party: 

Thursday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. The adult coloring parties will now be held once a month.  Are you looking for a fun and a relaxing way to spend the evening?  Explore the latest trend in relaxation; adult coloring books!  Specially designed adult coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided.  Light refreshments will be served at this Friends funded event. Drop-in.

Weekly English Conversation Circle:

Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Practice your English conversation skills and meet new friends in a relaxed and friendly environment. This program meets every Tuesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mary Atwood Hall.  The group is led by Carol Morse.  Registration is not required for this program. Gilson Gardening Series:

  • An Introduction to Seed Saving, Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m.  Jodie Gilson from Gilson Greenhouses will show us how to save seeds from our favorite garden plants and vegetables.  If you have “checked out” seeds from the Westford Community Seed Library (in the ground floor hallway of the Library) or, if you would simply like to learn how to harvest seeds, don’t miss this interesting and informative evening.  Drop-in.  Funded by the Friends of the Library.
  • Preparing Treats from Your Garden: Tuesday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m. Jodie Gilson from Gilson Greenhouses will show us how to make dips, spreads, butters, and seasonings.  Samples will be served! Register in the Information Services Department, 978-399-2304.  Funded by the Friends of the Library.
  • Preserving the Bounty of Your Garden: Tuesday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. Jodie Gilson’s final program in the Gilson Greenhouses series is a “don’t miss it” event.  Learn about freezing, canning, drying, pickling, and making herbal vinegars.  Register in the Information Services Department. Funded by the Friends of the Library.
