Two Westford Jr. Ghosts cheerleading teams have advanced through league competition and will be contending in the Pop Warner Regional Championships in Springfield on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12.
This Saturday, the D Team cheerleaders will compete against more than 15 teams from throughout the six-state New England region, while the A Team cheerleaders will face off against their tough competition on Nov. 12.
Both events will be held at the 8,000-seat MassMutual Center in downtown Springfield.
If either team places first or second in the regionals, they will be eligible to compete in the 2016 Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championships, which will take place Dec. 3-10 at Walt Disney World. More than 300 teams are expected to compete during the event, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla.
