Lunch and Learn
Kassandra Harwood, nurse practitioner, certified diabetes educator and board certified in advanced diabetes management will speak on “DIABETES 101” at the Cameron Senior Center. Complimentary lunch provided by the Atrium at Chelmsford Crossing. RSVP for Friday, Jan. 13 at 12:15 p.m. Attendees are asked to register by calling 978-692-5523.
Looking for a Charlie Card?
Chris Curry, LRTA/NMCOG Transit program Coordinator will help individuals receive a Charlie Card which will provide those age 60 and over a 50 percent discount on LRTA/MBTA transportation services. Bus routes, other transportation services will be highlighted. All AGES are welcome to attend Tuesday, Jan.17 at 1:30 p.m.
New Circuit Training instructed by Signature Fitness
Three spaces left.. Beginning Thursday, Jan. 19 an eight week training class in the fitness center will be offered. Participants will learn how to enhance your work-out on cardiac and strength equipment and create a personal exercise program that addresses goals and health concerns. Residents may register by calling Annette at 978-399-2326. Cost is $40.
Mama’s Home-cooking
Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 12 p.m.
Jackie Russell’s delicious baked Haddock, salad, sides, beverage and dessert for $3 will be served.
Registrants are asked to RSVP within 48 hours by calling 978-692-5523. Late sign-ups will be served after early registrants. Entree for Jan. 25 is fried chicken and macaroni and cheese.
Memory Cafe
This is an enriching, monthly social gathering for those in our community who are personally dealing with memory loss and those who help care for someone with these challenges. Held in the Cameron Senior Center library on Monday, Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Participants can engage in pet therapy or speak with Elder law Attorney from Madge and Johnson.
Quingong for Relaxation and Balance
Class for relaxation and balance offered at the Cameron Senior Center each Thursday Jan.19 through March 9 from 7-8 p.m.This eight week class will be taught through Lowell General and will be open to all ages. All Westford residents will receive a reduced rate of $40. The fee for anyone outside of Westford is $60. Residents are asked to register by calling Lowell general at 1-877-544-9355.
Lowell General Hospital Series
FREE monthly series with Lowell General on the second Tuesday of every month at the Cameron.
  • Feb. 14; Time: TBD – Small Steps that Makes Big Changes- 6-7:30 p.m.: Participants will learn the difference between fat loss and weight loss, how to focus on weight loss, how to train smarter and how to cut through all the media hype and confusion.
  • March 14- Time:TBD – Participants will earn how to cope with stress and benefit from healthier techniques achieved through self-hypnosis. They will explore techniques of relaxation, breathing, reflection, meditation and affirming and visualization. Registrants are asked to call Lowell General at 1-877-544-9355.
