Westford resident Mary Lovely is a survivor. She and her cousin, Laura Perry, were both sexually abused by the same predatory family member. Together, they created Say It, Survivor, an organization dedicated to helping others deal with the aftermath of abuse and reclaim their lives.
Lovely and Perry will present Sexual Abuse Prevention: Educated Parents, Empowered Kids, on Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Stony Brook Middle School, 9 Farmer Way. In this presentation, they share their stories, they say, shamelessly.
Parents and anyone who works with children are encouraged to come and educate themselves in order to protect the young people in their lives.
The event, hosted by the Westford Parent Connection, is free and open to the public, due to the generosity of our sponsors. This presentation was originally scheduled to take place in February, but was postponed due to inclement weather. For more information about Mary and Laura’s organization, residents are asked to visit http://www.sayitsurvivor.com/.
