I am honored to endorse Shunhe Xiong for Board of Health. Shunhe has excellent professional experience, a doctoral degree, and a fresh perspective on health and environment.

Shunhe has a strong background in environmental safety, with in-depth experience auditing over 100 companies based upon the ISO 14,000 Environmental Management Standards — a family of standards related to environmental management that helps organizations minimize how their processes negatively affect the environment (i.e., cause adverse changes to air, water, or land). These standards comply with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements that serve to improve environmental impacts of different industries.

Shunhe is a big advocate for clean air for better health of Westford residents. He and many other residents of Westford were greatly dismayed when they heard of the selectmen’s settlement to allow an asphalt plant in Westford. Shunhe will work proactively in the future to prevent such instances from happening again. His environmental background will be a complementary and invaluable asset to the Board of Health.

Westford residents are known for embracing diversity. Originally from China, Shunhe brings a fresh perspective on health – the Eastern way where good health comes in large part from prevention, healthful living, and clean environment. He eats well and balances work with activities including Tai Chi, walking, badminton, and meditation. Shunhe will bring a unique and essential perspective to the Westford Board of Health. On May 2, please vote in to the Board of Health, Shunhe Xiong. — Kathy Lynch, Rush Road
