The Library’s Holiday Hours:  On Wednesday, Nov. 22, Thanksgiving Eve, the Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, Nov. 24. The Library will re-open on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m.

Lego® Club: Saturday, Nov. 18 from 2 to 3 p.m.  Join us for an hour of brick fever fun as kids imagine, build and create. Meet other Lego® enthusiast and relax as you talk about your love of bricks. We will supply the Legos® and display space. All creations will be displayed in the library until the next time we meet. Free, drop-in for ages 5 and up with a parent or caregiver.

India Through Literature Series with Professor Bruce Browne: Monday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. Books provide an interesting and direct way to experience a culture; our fall book series on India presents a variety of perspectives on a complex country. All book discussions will be augmented with music and film clips that touch on themes of the text. Monday, Nov. 20, 1-2:30 p.m. “Sideways on a Scooter” by Miranda Kennedy, Monday, Dec. 18, 1-2:30 p.m. “Indian Summer: the Secret History of the End of an Empire” by Alex von Tunzelmann. Copies of the current selection are available for checkout at the Main Desk. No registration required.  Bruce C. Browne is a professor, director, actor, and playwright.  At the University of Wisconsin Colleges, he taught courses in Theatre, Film, and Mass Communications, while directing forty productions for University Theatre. Bruce spent eighteen in India, and has taught in Iran, and Qatar, teaching for Qatar Community College, Doha Film Institute, and Northwestern-Qatar

Cookbook Book Club: Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The Cookbook Book Club is dedicated to exploring cookbooks and sampling new recipes. Copies of this month’s choice, Perfect Recipes for Having People Over, by Pam Anderson are available for check out at the Main Desk. If you would like to bring a dish from the cookbook (not required to participate), please contact Sarah Regan in the Information Services Department at 978-399-2309. The Cookbook Book Club is funded by the Friends of the Library. No registration required.

The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease: Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, it’s important to know the facts. This program provides information about the disease and related dementias, the benefits of early detection, causes and risk factors, treatment, and support. This program is hosted by the MA/NH Alzheimer’s Association and dedicated in memory of Robert W. and Theresa Connolly Joyce. Sign up through the Meeting Room Calendar or call the Information Services Department at 978-399-2304.

Lego® Minecraft® Creeper Build: Saturday, Dec 2 from 2 to 3 p.m. Help build a kid-sized Lego® Minecraft® Creeper with local Brick Master Suzanne Eaton. Kids will assemble panels of green Lego® to create a single giant Creeper. All materials are provided by and go home with Suzanne. This free program is for kids ages 5 and up, registration is required. On-line registration opens on Saturday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m.
