Westford resident, Linda Greene has been named the new director of the Westford Historical Society and Museum.

She replaces Penny Lacroix who served in that position for 13 years.

WHS Board President, Dan Lacroix, said, “Our search committee went into the process with a vision for the attributes that we wanted to see in a new director.  After considering several candidates we found that Linda’s past experience with several different types of historical organizations, her proven ability to interpret history and engage with the public, and her clear enthusiasm and passion for the position made her the obvious choice.  We look forward to working with her as she brings her own vision to the organization.”

Greene brings many years of experience with museum programming, administration, and retail spaces. She served as Living History program manager for the Old North Church, school programming coordinator for the Concord Museum, and vice president and librarian of the Acton Historical Society. She also supports the Minute Man Historical National Park as a member of their Guild of Historic Reenactors.

Greene said the position is an “absolute dream” and is “thrilled” to “have the opportunity to be the overseer of preserving and sharing our local history for the education and enjoyment of many generations to come.”
