WESTFORD — The town, in coordination with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, will convert two intersections from two-way stops to four-way stops.
The intersections will be converted from two-way stops to four-way stops to improve traffic safety and flow.
The affected intersections are:
- Pine Street/Forge Village Road at Abbot Street/Town Farm Road
- Forge Village Road/Cold Spring Road
The change is scheduled for Sept. 10. Message boards will go up in advance of the intersection change to alert drivers about the upcoming change.
Drivers can expect new stop signs and stop at warning signs, which will be installed at all approaches. There will also be pavement markings that will be added and temporary new traffic pattern ahead signs that will be placed to alert drivers of the change.
The town encourages all motorists to use caution and allow extra time when traveling through intersections to adjust to the new traffic control.
