WESTFORD CENTER — Town officials have announced that Long Sought Pond and Nabnasset Lake are scheduled to undergo aquatic herbicide treatment for invasive aquatic vegetation on Tuesday, May 19.
Temporary water use restrictions will be in effect following treatment for both water bodies. Residents are advised not to use the water for boating, fishing, or swimming until May 20, watering livestock until May 21, drinking or cooking until May 23, and irrigation until May 25.
The treatment is being conducted under permits issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and orders from the Westford Conservation Commission.
Warning signs must be posted for 7 days following treatment or until the latest restriction date has passed.
