As Westford prepares for our Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, March 28, we urge our neighbors to show up at Westford Academy and participate in the most direct form of democracy we have.
Town Meeting is where your vote truly matters on protecting our environment and safeguarding clean energy initiatives. This is where we decide our community’s priorities and determine how our tax dollars are spent. This year, several critical articles deserve our support:
- Article 4 (Energy Efficiency Projects): By allocating funds to leverage state grants and utility rebates, we can continue to lower the town’s carbon footprint and operational costs. Recent projects have already saved Westford over 2 million kWh of electricity and nearly $200,000 in annual energy costs.
- Article 5 (Cameron Senior Center HVAC): Supporting this funding ensures our seniors have a safe, climate-controlled space for essential year-round programming.
- Article 6 (Blanchard Solar PILOT): This article is a smart fiscal and environmental move, authorizing a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement for the new solar array at Blanchard Middle School.
