Mike Payette’s Three Hour Tour (soft yacht rock of 70’s-80’s)

March 2 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

TICKETING: $20 Advance, $25 at the Door, $18 Members

Mike Payette (bass, vocals) returns to the PCA on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with a new band called “Three Hour Tour”. This new band will entertain you with soft yacht rock music with 70’s-80’s smooth vibes, great songs, and tight harmonies. Think Michael McDonald, Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Toto, Steely Dan, Ambrosia, and more.

This new music project came to life when Mike Payette was subbing for a musician in the band No Static (a Steely Dan tribute band). During the break, he told the drummer Barry Lit that he’d like to put together a Yacht Rock show, to which Barry replied “I’m IN!”… and so the THREE HOUR TOUR began.

Mike has gathered his musician friends of kindred spirits to be part of this new band that includes keyboards, sax & trumpet, and background singers. Many of them know a thing or two about Yacht Rock from their time playing with Barry Lit in No Static, as well as other music projects Payette has worked with.

Michael Payette (vocals, bass)
Steve Aubert (keys)
Eric Byers (guitar, vocals)

What is Yacht Rock? Yacht rock refers in part to a stereotypical yacht owner enjoying smooth music while sailing. It was that kind of soft rock with glossy production, breezy vocals, and bouncy rhythms that dominated FM radio airwaves in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
