LEOMINSTER – The following press release was shared by state Sen. John Cronin for publication.

State Senator John J. Cronin announced his candidacy for reelection to a third term in the Massachusetts Senate today.

“Over the last three years the North Central delegation has delivered more than a $35 million annual increase in state funding for public schools, a 50% increase in state funding for roads, made bus fares free, secured key public investments for housing production, and provided a $1 billion tax cut for working and middle class families.“

“There is so much more to accomplish by working together and I really feel like our collective work is just getting started to move North Central forward,” stated Cronin.

Cronin’s reelection has been endorsed by all six state representatives in his Senate District. “Public service is a team sport. I am proud of the level of collaboration our office has had with every level of local, state, and federal government. In 2024, we need elected officials to turn down the volume, solve problems, and deliver for constituents. I’m proud to have earned all my colleagues’ trust, confidence, and support.”

In 2021, the Disabled American Veterans of Massachusetts recognized Cronin as legislator of the year for his distinguished advocacy for veterans across the Commonwealth. In 2022, MassBioEd recognized him with statewide honors for his leadership in developing workforce training pathways for disadvantaged youth into the life sciences.

Cronin is a graduate of West Point, Suffolk University Law School, and a U.S. Army Infantry combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan. He has been elected twice to the Massachusetts Senate and remains the youngest member of the chamber. Cronin is Senate Chair of the Gateway Cities Caucus, the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, the Vice-Chair of Healthcare Financing, and a member of the Ways and Means Committee.
