Vote for Tom Clay!
Please join me in supporting Tom Clay on May 5 in his candidacy for re-election to the Westford Select Board.
Those of us lucky enough to live in Westford have many reasons to be grateful for the life we have here, not the least of which is the energy put forth by our many Town volunteers.
Occasionally, someone comes along who stands out: giving their best effort, working their hardest for the community, listening to everyone, carefully deliberating decisions, collaborating, communicating, and always learning in order to better lead.
I’ve known Tom Clay for twenty years, during which time he was elected to two of the most difficult Town positions, School Committee and Select Board. I can say definitively that he embodies all of these qualities. I’ve never met anyone with a more heartfelt desire to serve, and to serve well. He is level-headed and even-tempered, ready to listen to different sides of any argument, to change his mind when appropriate and to make a difficult decision when necessary. His business background provides experience that uniquely qualifies him to serve in the Select Board position where the members are frequently called upon to make choices for the entire community. At the same time, he is will relinquish that decision making function to the voters when it becomes appropriate to do so. Added to all this is his ability to draw on the local experience he has garnered over his years of service which allows him to have an important historical perspective and to always consider the big picture.
In short, we are extremely lucky to have Tom serving on the Select Board here in Westford and that he wishes to continue to serve. Please remember to vote on May 5 and to cast your ballot for Tom Clay for Select Board.
