I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you.

Hi, my beloved readers. Whether you’ve been here since day one or just joined the madness, I have some news to share.

This may be the most shocking edition of this column to date.

The conversation is flowing, the drama is simmering, and this week’s headline reads as follows: Westford’s Hottest Gossip: I’m Saying Goodbye!

I’m typing these words with a heavy heart and slightly sweaty fingertips… I’ve decided to move on to a new opportunity and leave WCAT. And piggybacking off this little emotional plot twist, this will be the final Word on the Street (Westford’s Version). So let’s make it official: Word on the Street (Westford’s Version): The Finale.

I truly can’t put into words how grateful I am for this organization, my coworkers, the incredible community I’ve met through this role, and, of course, all of you, my loyal, drama-loving readers.

I was given this opportunity at WCAT circa 2023, and it helped shape me into the person I am today. Somewhere along the way, writing stopped feeling like a chore and became something I genuinely love. Who saw that coming? I put myself out into the community in ways I never imagined, uncovering hidden gems in the town I’ve called home for 25 years. And most importantly, I built relationships that will last a lifetime, especially with my best friend, Emily Collins.

This is not an easy goodbye. I’ve been comfortable here. I’ve challenged myself here. I’ve grown here. I’ve dusted off my light-wash Abercrombie jeans and somehow found the courage to step onto a brand-new path. But this isn’t really a goodbye, it’s more of a “see you later.”

As sad as I am to leave, I’m just as excited for what’s next. A new chapter, a new adventure, and ideally, fewer than four jobs at once.

Don’t worry, I’m not disappearing. You’ll still see me around town, whether I’m driving my Jeep with Taylor Swift blasting just a little too loudly, speedwalking laps at Stony Brook Middle School, or casually making myself at home in the outdoor seating area at The Works Cafe. I’m never far, just a wave away.

Well, this is it, Westford.

And in the words of my idol… thank you for the lovely bouquet.
