Unless otherwise noted, the following programs are made possible by the Friends of the Library.
Director’s Corner: Each year, staff collect a multitude of statistics that are required for a report to the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. A unique statistic for the temporary location is the number of times the “runner” made trips downstairs to retrieve a requested title from the closed stacks. Over the course of the fiscal year, staff completed 9,126 trips to the closed stacks!
Adult Programs
VIRTUAL-The History of Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market: Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m. Millions visit Faneuil Hall (opened 1742) and Quincy Market (opened 1826) each year — drawn by the food, the shops, and the rich sense of history. But behind the brick and granite walls are stories that most visitors (and even many locals) have never heard. Led by Susan Mara Bregman, author of the new book, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. RECORDING NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program. Sponsored by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library in collaboration with the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. Registration is required.
Monday Mystery Book Club: Monday, August 24th at 2:30 p.m., Roudenbush The Mystery Book Club will discuss Head Cases by John McMahon. Copies are available at Main Desk. Each participant will receive a mini-sticker booklet to decorate and collect stickers. Books and Bunnies: Tuesday, September 15, 10:30 a.m., Good Pickin’ Farm We welcome you to join us at Good Pickin’ Farm while we cuddle the sweetest bunnies and listen to an interactive storytime led by Farmer Jen! This storytime is geared for children ages 2-5. Registration for this event opens on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m.
Middle Grade Book Club: Registration opens Tuesday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. Join us for a lively discussion, snacks, and a fun activity! This session, we’ll be discussing Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono, The Last Resort by Erin Entrada Kelly, and Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed. Registration is required and is for all three sessions.
