Over 17 inches of snow fell in Westford after a powerful winter storm hit Massachusetts, with snowfall continuing from Sunday morning until Monday evening.
A home on Forge Village Road in Westford was evacuated on Friday, after a fire broke out inside, prompting firefighters and police to shut down the road.
The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a winter storm watch for Middlesex County, including Westford, effective from 7 a.m. on Jan. 25 through 7 p.m. on Jan. 26. Forecasters say heavy snow is possible, with projected accumulations ranging from 12 to 24 inches.
Up to a foot of snow is possible for Westford and much of Massachusetts this weekend, as a large winter storm moves through the area on Sunday and Monday.
