The following information was provided by the Westford Police Department.

May 12, 8:34 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to Thrifty Car Rental on Littleton Road with a request for legal advice.

The manager stated that a customer had rented silver 2013 Subaru Impreza for one day on April 21. The following day, the customer requested to extend the rental an additional 21 days, but did not sign the extension contract.

When Thrifty attempted to bill for the additional rental fees, the customer’s card was declined. He stated that he could not pay the bill and did not know when he would be able to return the vehicle.

Thrifty was advised that this was a civil case and if the customer did not return the car or pay his outstanding balance, the issue would be taken up in civil court.

Police made contact with the customer who informed him that he was currently homeless and living in an undisclosed parking lot.

He stated that he had lost the car’s ignition key and was attempting to have the vehicle towed to Thrifty later that day where he would pay his outstanding debt.

May 13, 10:03 p.m. – A disturbance was reported at The Hampton Inn and Suites when a party requested a room only to be told that there were no vacancies. The party then refused to leave the lobby but was not combative or aggressive.

After speaking to the manager, the party was identified and it was mentioned that the manager did not want the party on the property any longer or in the future.

Hampton Inn’s manager was then advised to draft a letter of no trespass that could be give to him that night.

The man in question stated that he had been released from a local hospital the day before.  After being dropped off at a Dunkin Donuts by his mother, he began looking for a place to stay.

He appeared of alert and of sound mind and was advised that the Best Western in Chelmsford had rooms available.

Prior to leaving, the officer searched the subject’s duffel bag and handed him the letter of no trespass before transporting him to Chelmsford without incident.

May 29, 9:17 p.m. – An officer responded to a disturbance call, claiming that eight to ten children were hiding in the area and ringing doorbells.

The officer arrived and searched the area for the youths in question with negative results.

The reporting party did not wish to be spoken to.

May 29, 5:48 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Vineyard Road for a complaint regarding a group of kids being loud and trespassing in the queries.

Upon arrival, the officer did not observe any noise and proceeded to check the Miller School parking lot for any cars parked in the lot that led to the quarry.

No suspicious cars were seen and two maintenance workers form the school stated they had not seen anyone go up to the queries that day.

May 28, 6:55 p.m. – After being dispatched to Graniteville Road for legal advice, a resident informed an officer of an ongoing problem concerning trash barrels.

Upon arrival, the officer observed three trash/recycling barrels sitting side by side at the end of the driveway, leaving plenty of room for a vehicle.

The woman stated that for “years” it was not uncommon to find the barrels in the state in which the officer had witnessed them, and that sometimes they are even more centered in the driveway, preventing vehicle entrance.

She was concerned that this was a safety issue because she had to park her car in the middle of the road to get out and move the barrels.

After advising that she had called the trash/recycling company to confirm they had left the barrels in a non-obstructive manner, the woman stated that she suspected a resident of Patriot Lane was responsible.

The Patriot Lane resident allegedly held a grudge against the woman for the building of the residence.  Before, the lot had been woods where he walked his dog.

The woman stated she simply wanted the incident documented and that she would attempt to catch the Patriot Lane resident on camera.
