The following information was provided by the Westford Police Department.

June 8, 5:00 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Trails End for a 911 call that apparently came from a child.  It was unclear what the child was saying over the phone.

After reaching the home on Trails End, it was discovered that there was no emergency; the child did not fully understand when it was appropriate to call 911.

The officer advised to the child that 911 was for emergencies only, and provided from examples of when it would be appropriate to call 911. The child’s age was not released.

June 10, 3:56 p.m. – One Westford man contacted police to complain about a landscaper. The landscaper was provided with a check for $70 a month earlier, but had not done anything since receiving the check.

The landscaper was contacted by the man who said there had been a death in the family and he was unable to refund the $70.

In response, the officer the man talked to said he would try to contact the landscaper, but that ultimately this issue would require civil court for resolution.

June 11, 2:52 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Forge Village Road for a dispute between two neighbors.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with one of the neighbors, who explained that the other neighbor had frequently made inappropriate comments, particularly about the behavior of their daughter.

The first neighbor said she did not know the second neighbor well.

Later, the officer met with the second neighbor, who was unaware of the incident.

The officer later met with the daughter, who disagreed that comments had been made by the second neighbor and that there was no cause for concern.

June 14, 5:50 p.m. – Police were dispatched to Tenney Road after reports of a vehicle hitting a telephone pole.

The 12-foot pole had snapped halfway through and telephone wires were strung across the vehicle, a Ford F-250 truck.

After the impact, the truck spun 90 degrees and two Tyngsborough officers were already on the scene with the driver of the vehicle.

The driver said he had been coming home from a bar in Lowell and the officer could smell a moderate odor of liquor coming from his breath. He told officers that he had two beers, but later said they were rum and Cokes, not beers. The driver appeared unsteady on his feet.

This driver was heading northbound on Tenney Road and went to the shoulder of the road after a vehicle swerved into his lane, but due to his speed, he was unable to avoid the telephone pole.

He was issued a citation and given a ride to a local hospital.
