The following information came from the Westford Police Department

Aug. 7, 12:33 a.m. – One anonymous caller reported someone riding a minibike in the Westford Academy parking lot. Upon arrival, no minibike riders were found, but Westford Highway Department employees were painting a crosswalk.

They said they’d be done in 15 minutes.

Aug. 9, 6:19 a.m. – While on patrol, an officer was sent to Concord Road for a traffic accident.

Upon arrival, he spotted a brown Chevy Malibu that had went into a ditch and hit a stone wall, pointing southbound on the eastbound side of the road.

The driver was uninjured, he reported to police that he was reaching for a pack of cigarettes while on the way home, but was drowsy.

A passenger stated that she and the driver had been up all night dealing with police officers in Concord, but was unaware if the driver fell asleep.

After an investigation of the scene, it was determined that the vehicle had traveled 57 feet parallel to the stone wall before making contact, and the lack of tire marks indicated that the driver did not try to correct his vehicle back onto the roadway.

The driver was issued a citation and the vehicle was towed, although later the passenger became upset with fees issued by the tow company.

Aug. 17, 4:02 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported trying to break into an apartment on Princeton Way.

The apartment owner said she was watching television and believed she heard her doorknob turn as though someone was trying to break in.

She quickly called her husband and found that she was at work. After the noise stopped, she couldn’t find anyone in the hallway and the apartment complex’s management office said they had no employees in the hallway.

No further action was taken.

Aug. 18, 11:15 p.m. – Police were dispatched to Westford Academy after a neighbor complained about children playing basketball in the parking lot.

The officer asked them to make less noise, the children left the area.
