Nashoba Valley Technical High School Committee Chairwoman Jennifer Rhodes announced on Tuesday night that negotiations with Leo DeSimone were unsuccessful, with the matter being reopened during a special Monday meeting.

DeSimone, the current director of the Comprehensive, Career and Technical Education Department at Somerville High School, had been chosen to replace Superintendent Judith Klimkiewicz, who has announced that she will retire at the end of the school year.

The committee will decide whether to appoint one of the other two finalists – Nashoba Tech Principal Denise Pigeon and Shawsheen Valley Technical High School Assistant Superintendent Carissa Karakaedos – or to reopen the search.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m.
