The following information came from the Westford Police Department.
Jan. 22, 3:24 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to Tadmuck Road for a reported single vehicle traffic accident without any injuries.
The vehicle, a Toyota Prius, was facing east in the northbound lane with signs of impact damage to the driver’s side front, with the driver’s side front tire shredded and crushed back into the main body of the vehicle.
According to the officer’s report, the driver stated that he was travelling north and either fell asleep or blacked out, crossed over into the southbound lane, travelled off the road and hit a rock. This jarred the driver into skidding back into the northbound lane and stopped.
The driver said he had a drink earlier in the day, and did slur some words, but his eyes did not appear bloodshot and was in complete control of his faculties.
The driver’s parents arrived later and a tow truck arrived after issues with AAA were dealt with.
Jan. 24, 5:04 p.m. – Two officers were dispatched to Plain Road after reporters of a two-car motor vehicle accident.
One of the vehicles, a gray Volkswagen, was facing east and was partially off the road. The other vehicle, a green Buick, was facing north and was situated next to a large tree. Tire marks led off the road and were located near the Buick.
Although the Volkswagen had no damage, the Buick’s front and rear passenger side doors were crushed in due to the tree. There was also damage on the driver’s side of the vehicle due to the tree, with transmission fluid leaking out of the vehicle.
The driver of Buick stated to police that he was driving eastbound at approximately 50 miles per hour, at which point he began to “float left” and hit the brakes. After that, he hit the tree. The speed limit at that location is 30 miles per hour.
Witnesses also indicated to police that a child with a dog was walking down the road near the vehicle when it went toward the tree.
The driver of the Buick was issued a citation as well as additional sanctions with the Department of Motor Vehicles related to endangering the child with the dog.
No injuries were reported.
Jan. 25, 11:32 a.m. – A resident on Phillips Drive complained about vehicles failing to stop for a school bus stop near his home. He has a child and is afraid someone is going to get hurt.
Additional patrols were requested for the area. No description of the vehicles was given.
Earlier that day, Dee Bus Company gave a report of vehicles failing to stop for school busses on Tallard Road and Concord Road, but no information was obtained on those vehicles.
Jan. 26, 12:08 p.m. – A suspicious elderly woman on Country Road came to the attention of Westford Police after a resident saw the woman looking into the basement windows of his house.
He quickly approached her and asked what she was doing, she replied to him that she was just curious if the house was occupied.
He told her it was none of her business and she quickly walked toward Patten Road.
The man told police about the woman and officers asked area residents and other local officials if they knew anyone fitting the description of the woman.
A local social worker indicated to police that the woman potentially was one of two sisters who frequently walk down the road.
One of the women lives in the social worker’s basement and both women had issues with the police in the past.
An hour later, it was discovered that the woman was in fact one of the sisters. She apparently was looking around the area for a cheaper place to live.
She was told not to look into windows of homes again.
