What does it take to be a leader? That was the question asked last month as over two dozen local business leaders gathered at Netscout for an event discussing young women and leadership.
Hosted by the Westford Business Association, the event was highlighted by a movie entitled “What Does It Take To Be A Leader?” Developed by students at Miss Halll’s School in Western Massachusetts, the film has been accompanied with follow-up discussions in a variety of other settings ranging from small community organizations to the National Junior League in Washington, DC.
Miss Hall’s spokesperson Alison Basdekis was pleased with the reception to the film at Netscout.
“I thought it was really successful. It was great to see the number of women and men come out and talk about women’s leadership and how it affects them personally,” she said.
Along with the Westford Business Association, the event was organized by Netscout and Northern Bank and Trust among several others.
Northern Bank and Trust Westford branch manager and Westford Business Association member Corinne Rosseel shared a similar view to Basdekis
“I think we’ve had a great turnout, there’s a great variety of women and men here from a variety of disciplines,” said Rosseel. “I think it’s been a terrific event and has prompted a lot of discussion around women and leadership.”
