In recent years, the memory of Kurt Kelly helped fund a variety of groups within Westford and nearby towns. This holiday season, they’re asking for support to help again.
The Kurt Kelly Memorial Foundation, better known as the KDK Foundation, is currently holding a Yankee Candle fundraiser to raise more money for future projects.
In the past, the group has helped several Westford children with disabilities, purchased playground equipment for Westford’s preschools, and helped the Westford Food Pantry.
Named after Chelmsford resident Kurt Kelly, the organization began shortly after Kelly died during a tragic car accident in 2012.
Initially the organization focused on continuing Kelly’s support for local youth hockey teams, expanding to other charitable efforts in 2014.
Although the deadline has passed for Christmas orders, candles can still be purchased to support the cause. Anyone interested can go to yankeecandlefundraising.com, head to to the “Start Shopping” box and enter #990076756 as the group number.
More information on the KDK Foundation is available on their website.Â
