The Middlesex District Attorney has identified the 56-year-old Tewksbury woman who died in Acton while wheeling a supermarket shopping cart in the Roche Brothers parking lot as Denise Stracqualursi.

At approximately 1:09 p.m., on April 26, Acton Police and Fire were dispatched to Massachusetts Avenue, Acton, for a report of a pedestrian who was struck and injured by a vehicle in the parking lot of Roche Bros grocery store.

Upon arrival, first responders located Denise Stracqualursi laying alongside the travel lane in front of the store and subsequently transported her to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Ms. Stracqualursi died on April 29. Preliminary investigation suggests that Denise Stracqualursi was walking with a shopping cart when the driver of the vehicle, a 76-year-old woman, turned left and struck her as she was crossing the travel lane toward the parking area. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

This investigation is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Acton Police Department. No charges have been filed and no additional information is being released at this time.
