Sustainable Westford is teaming up with Next Step Living to launch the “Westford Solar for All Campaign” this week.
The campaign is a communitywide effort to encourage residents to have whole home energy assessments and explore the benefits of rooftop solar panels and community solar gardens as energy saving options.
“We’re pleased to be able to help Westford homeowners achieve more energy savings and learn about the environmental and economic benefits of solar as an energy source,” said Gabe Shapiro, vice president of outreach programs at Next Step Living. “Community solar is fast emerging as an alternative for those for whom rooftop solar is not viable. It’s a practical solution for all of us facing ever rising utility bills.”

Shapiro’s company will be donating funds from every home assessment completed to Sustainable Westford projects such as the Tap WA-ter initiative, offering fresh and nutritious foods for local disadvantaged families and the Rainbow Snack program at the Robinson School.
Access to community solar options are available to any National Grid or Eversource ratepayer in Massachusetts according to Next Step Living and Sustainable Westford.
There will be a public kickoff event and workshop for the initiative at the Roudenbush Community Center on Monday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m.
