WESTFORD — Ice and snow, take it slow.

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to impact the region through the Thursday morning commute.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Friday for most of Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service.

One to two inches of sleet accumulation is possible, with approximately one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected in the area. Higher elevations can expect up to three inches of snow accumulation and total ice accumulations of one quarter of an inch.

Wind gusts of up to 20 miles-per-hour are possible.

The National Weather Service and Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency recommends allowing for additional travel time during the morning commute.

No delays or closings for area schools have been announced at the time of reporting.
